This is a map of Finland that shows the area where both my Grandparents were raised. The area named Vassa is the Province that both home towns were in, Seinajoki is shown on the map. That is the town in which my Grandmother was raised. My Grandfather came from a town just south of Seinajoki,( 20 or 30 miles), called Jalesjarvi. Arja, the cousin we communicate with in Finland, is from Turku and has a summer cottage in Jalesjarvi. This has been an asset in understanding our ancestors home country and communities.
